Want to catch a barramundi? The Territory is the place to do it!

The waters are brimming with fish that are the envy of recreational anglers throughout Australia. Fishing is one of the Territory's most popular pastimes.
In the north, Darwin Harbour and the creeks that feed into it are the main fishing areas, and the famous barramundi is the most popular target species. The Territory also has excellent reef fishing – and many rivers and billabongs to tempt the angler.
Territory anglers have access to good fishing areas through boat ramps and artificial reefs, and are able to reach out-of-the-way waterways through pastorals properties and other land.
The Territory hosts many large fishing tournaments, including the NT Barra Classic, Kakadu Klash, Daly River Barra Nationals and the Gove Game Classic, which attract anglers from Australia and around the world.
