Attracting workers to the Territory

The Northern Territory Government has been attracting workers to the Territory through the Skilled Worker Campaign since 2005.

In March 2010 the NT Government will be a major sponsor at one of Australia’s biggest job shows. Employers are invited to submit their current vacancies to an electronic jobs board to be promoted free of charge at Reinvent Your Career in Brisbane to 5000 ‘real age’ job seekers. These ‘real jobs, ready now’ will be available to the public between 22 March and 16 April.

Jobs shows the Territory attended in 2008 had a 14 per cent return on advertised vacancies filled as a direct result of the shows.

Potential workers are also invited to register with the Skilled Worker Database. Northern Territory employers access the database to search for suitable candidates.
